"Preserving a Lost Art...Gaining a Better Future"
Colonial Classics Farmstead Cheese is quality all natural farmstead cheese. We offer sharp or mild aged gourmet farmstead cheddar cheese. Farmstead cheese or farmhouse cheese are both terms used to describe cheese made from milk directly on the farm. Why is our gourmet farmhouse cheddar cheese so special? The ingredients! Our cows are grass-fed and milk is immediately made into cheddar cheese. Farmstead cheese is cheese that is made from milk that never left the farm. Starting with our own farmstead fresh raw milk enables us to produce for you a handmade, gourmet aged farmstead cheddar cheese rich in flavor and loaded with natural goodness. The natural color of cheddar cheese is yellow. This yellow color is derived from the foods the cows get. Vitamin A (Beta Carotene) is in the pasture and is transferred to the milk ...NO artificial colors necessary! Gourmet farmstead cheese at it's finest! Giving our cows the best enable them to give us their best! And that's it! Our small farmhouse cheese factory uses improved equipment and research combined with old fashioned art and style! The common cheese made by farm wives was aged raw milk cheddar cheese. We modeled our handmade style of cheese-making after those originally used by the farm wives of long ago. Our cultured all natural, hormone free raw milk, gourmet farmstead or farmhouse cheddar cheese is aged a minimum of 60 days, which is equal to the effects of pasteurization without destroying heat-sensitive healthy enzymes. Our goal is to create a delicious, wholesome, gourmet all natural farmstead cheddar cheese; "pasture-fed" with no artificial ingredients that could be served by itself or enhance any recipe. Try some of our delicious gourmet farmstead cheese recipes.
